Rick Santorum had a good night. Mitt Romney had a bad night.
And Ron Paul is having a good week.
Combine a new Reuter’s poll today which put Paul second nationally, a strong second place finish by Paul in Minnesota tonight, a performance by Santorum that undermines Mitt Romney’s supposed inevitability, and guess what you have?
A race that remains wide open.
Romney was once worried about a serious challenge from Newt Gingrich. Newt is quickly becoming yesterday’s news.
Romney is now challenged by a Paul surge and wins from Santorum that would have been unthinkable just weeks ago.
Paul is just as poised to win the GOP presidential nomination as the remaining three candidates. Gingrich has gone from a runaway victory in South Carolina to oblivion. Santorum has gone from oblivion to runaway victories.*Romney simply goes on.
And Ron Paul goes on, incorruptible, undaunted and toward the ultimate victory.
