Workers have completely demolished the former Rheem plant.

The long vacant water heater factory has been levelled to make way for the city’s plans to develop the west harbour lands.

The Ministry of Environment says whoever develops the land, once targeted for Hamilton's Pan Am Stadium project, will likely have to remediate the property.

The land has been zoned for residential buildings, including a condo, and parkland.
